The GLO by Best Western Pooler-Savannah Airport offers a convenient location near I-95 and the Tanger Outlets, with generally positive reviews focusing on value and friendly service. However, recent feedback highlights recurring cleanliness concerns, elevator issues, noise levels, and an inconsistent guest experience, suggesting the property may be struggling to maintain its standards.
I've been to both Best Western Glo's near I-95 in Savannah and this is the one I return to. Quit rooms and neighborhood, spacious, comfy beds, blackout drapes, friendly staff. Great value, superior wifi and cell reception.
For starters this hotel continues to go down hill for us. We’d stay here throughout the last four years. And each time we come our experience has declined from great and exciting to u sure and disappointing. The elevator feels like…(if it’s working) going to drop to the bottom or just not move; there’s a smelly swamp as our view where truckers leave their truck and then go about their business; breakfast is all from bags… the only thing fresh are the waffles stat you make yourself; the lobby smells of marijuana (sp?); bed sheets have stains on them, and the worst, I wake up to a huge bug crawling on my arm.
A very nice, clean hotel. But I think the housekeepers should be quiet when they clean the rooms. The girl with the red hair wouldn't let me sleep because she was talking on the phone and laughing and shouting loudly. Also, if you leave something behind, they never return it. The breakfast was spectacular, and the young man in the kitchen provided excellent service and was very polite.
My room was relatively small but big enough for 1 - 2 people, it was actually very well stocked with amenities. Everything worked. I loved the desk by the window. I had a room by the stairs and every time someone came in or out it slammed and it was quite loud. But as far as any other noise including airport noise? Moderate but not disruptive. The breakfast was pretty nice.. Eggs, bacon, sausage, bananas, apples, cereal. Assorted juices. I spilled some cranberry juice like a doofus and a staff member was right there with a mop before I could get napkins. The beds were outstanding. Really can't go wrong at a best Western. Even the not great ones are miles above the competition in terms of value, quality, and service. If I ever come back through I'll for sure stay here again.
The room was small but clean. The water pressure was great!!! The location is great too. The breakfast was not good at all, not even the coffee. Jasmine, who worked at the front desk, was very Professional, helpful and friendly. She even had a great sense of humor. She's one of the reasons why I decided to stay at this hotel for the first time. Don't get rid of Jasmine, she's a keeper!!!
For some reason this 2yr hotel is already falling apart. The entrance of the hotel has a halfway downed chain link fence, with overgrown grass by it. Once you're inside, you start feeling at ease as the lobby area is clean, organized and good looking. However, only one of the front desk staff is nice a guy in his 30's-40's who greeted everyone walking by. In comparison to 3 different ladies who were stuck doing their own thing and couldn't bother to look up. Only one of their two elevators works, and is incredibly slow. Once in the room we were meet with what looked like a nice room. Although during our stay we kept finding areas with mold in the walls and ceilings. The office chair in the room was disgustingly stained, and the bed had some torned areas in the bedding sheet. The blackout curtains got stuck in the closed position the first night, and we weren't able to open it back up. The breakfast in the morning is your average hotel breakfast. Nothing to rave or complain. All in all, we wouldn't stay here again or recommend this place to anyone.
Lackluster hotel. When we arrived, our room was not ready and the room we were moved to had a mechanic working on the AC. Then, they told us the original room was ready but when we went upstairs, it was still being cleaned. We got late checkout which was nice, but that is truly no cost to the hotel. The windows do not open, and as a result, there is constant humidity and the smell of mold/mildew hanging in the air. Also, on the last day of our visit, these bugs were crawling in the shower (Room 324). For $100 a night, I expected a bit more.
We loved this hotel! We ended up staying for 5 days, both during the week and on the weekend. Christine(/a?) was phenomenal and so helpful. The breakfast was actually pretty decent. One guy did a phenomenal job keeping up with it all. It never got low and we even saw him taking the temp to make sure the food was staying at safe temps. The other guy who ran it there was never any hot food available, unfortunately. The rooms were great! We liked the layout and the “hidden” bathroom. The only downside was that the beds were pretty hard and they didn’t look at all like queen size beds like we booked. All in all, it was a really great stay and we preferred it to the Marriott we stayed the night before in another town.
My husband and I travel to visit our daughter who resides in Pooler. Everything at this hotel appears to be good. Strong emphasis on appears to be. We originally stopped by to make a reservation after calling early that morning and speaking with Crisitne. We asked the lady on the front desk when we arrived if she was the same person we spoke with over the phone that morning. She said, "yep that’s me!". Our fourth trip down raised a definite concern for us. On four separate visits we have observed this particular individual who checked us in was the same individual when getting off the elevator saying good morning to us the very next day. Did the young lady even sleep? How is it that the manager or even an additional staff member is not there helping when it was clearly needed? In our opinion this is an unprofessional business practice. I can see that the front desk lady was super helpful, but how can this keep going on for what looks like months on end? Is corporate aware? My curiosity abounds. As I mentioned above, strong emphasis on appears to be. The building looks new and shiny, but the elevator hasn't been operational during our last three out of the four visits in the past seven months. Every single time we booked a room we had to be moved from our original room from finding things unsatisfactory or in very poor repair which is odd for it to be a new establishment. I answered a survey at one point which was met with a "give us another opportunity" response from the manager. We will respectfully NOT be returning again. It's giving: what else are they sweeping under the rug at this hotel.
New hotel, less than 2 years old. Great customer service. Cool lobby and furniture. Yummy hot breakfast with egg, sausage, bagels, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, coffee, juices , and waffle station. The rooms were on the smaller side and interestingly designed, layout-wise. Kuerig coffee machine. Mini fridge, no freezer inside. Microwave. Bath products have essential oils in them, including lemongrass. Showerhead has rainfall spout. Gym was clean with two TVs. Free parking and wireless internet, and free shuttle service. Thank you GLo BW Western Pooler Team!
