Guests consistently praise the property for its affordable retro charm, excellent location across from the beach, and exceptional staff hospitality. The rooms feature vintage aesthetics, cute decor, and functional amenities like fridges and microwaves, although a few recent reviews noted issues with deep cleaning and infrastructure.
Older motor hotel but it’s nicer and cleaner than the new ones. Cynthia calls you before your stay asking if you need anything and will work with a late check in. Pool was beautiful and one block from the 10th st pier to the beach. Unit has a good ac which in summer is a blessing. Clean clear pool and well kept grounds. The executive suite is amazing with 2 bedrooms and a twin bed in its own little room. Couch pulls out too so if you got kids it’s awesome. Plus hot water. A plus for big families. Love this place come help them out cause they are amazing.
My name is Michael Stembridge. My family and I stayed over the weekend of February 27th thru March 1st. To put it plainly our stay was fantastic to start the room was clean and comfortable and had a really cool vintage look. Our stay was super affordable and the staff was always available and helpful. My family and I all agree that a return stay is 100% happening in the near future.
We LOVED our stay at the Royal Palms Motel! We are so excited to have a cute place to stay when we come to Tybee. The location is right across from the beach, with a safe crosswalk at the corner. Also walking distance to a market. The bed was very comfortable, as well as the pillows and towels. I loved being able to open the windows for fresh air. There was plenty of space for our bags. We couldn’t recommend this place enough.
What a great find this motel was - classic beach town old skool vibe yet balanced with some nice updates. Affordable and fun, we loved this place. You can walk into town from here in 20 minutes, there's a great pool in the middle of the horseshow layout and the folks that run this place are so nice, very helpful with recommendations and interested in making your stay really great. We visited Tybee for half of our 4-day trip to Savannah - a perfect complement of history and culture in Savannah with a laid back no chain (seriously) community of restaurant and retail on Tybee. The beaches are really great and we had dolphins swimming about 10' from us! Such a great wildlife encounter and seemingly common on Tybee's beaches. I'd highly recommend the pizza establishment Farace's Finest Pizza's and Pints - outstanding pizza and live music in outdoor setting.
We had a great little vacation here! The walk to the beach is very short, and safe. The rooms are very well kept and the kitchenette is very functional and stylish. We filled the ice bucket and stored it in the freezer, and it lasted the whole trip. It was perfect for my iced coffee on morning beach strolls. We had no neighbor noise issues during our stay and the AC worked amazingly well. I loved the huge Tybee chart mural in our room, it was a very nice touch. The staff was very nice too, we will definitely be staying here again!
All I can say is now I want to move here!!!! Everything about this place is amazing! The rooms are super clean and cute. Total retro vibes inside and out. The pool is so clean and in a lovely location close to all rooms. This is a perfect place for a relaxing weekend or party trip. My mom and I brought my daughter her to celebrate her 18th BDay, we loved it soo much we booked an extra day.
We really enjoyed our stay here! Truly a 5 minute walk from our door to the ocean. Easy to check in and get a door code instead of a key which was great to keep our arms light going to and from. There are some things they are working on remodeling and the ventilation in the rooms is hard after everyone showers and has wet clothes from the beach—but that is to be expected in a beach motel. The air conditioner worked great. Each room having a fridge and microwave was a bonus for us as a family. Bathroom is small due to the building being older and renovations not having much space to make it spacious. But it’s the perfect size to have a place to crash for the beach. It’s important to note that the office hours are 9-5. At least when we were there. So be sure to get your requests in before they leave the desk! There isn’t an easy place to get water or ice after the office closes (there is a water refill station in the office) There is an ice machine outside but it needs quarters to run. The pool is beautiful and clean! I’m looking forward to seeing this place continue to improve as we visit over the years.
Staying here while on Tybee Island. Nice little motel. I have a nice cozy room. I love how they don't have keys for the rooms but a number pad. They text you your room number and room code. Way better than keys or card keys. Would definitely stay here again.
Cynthia at the front desk was amazing! Hospitality and helpfulness was on point. Water refill and ice machine a bonus! Room was cute. Mostly clean. Floors need attention. We would definitely stay again. Beach access across the street and great shopping and food walkable.
Great location! Rooms were small, but had all we needed for our stay. There was light coming from beneath our door so some insulation or something is needed. Location was within easy walking distance to beach and shops/restaurants. Pool looked nice, but we didn’t use. Ice machine was broken (I couldn’t get it to work and it looked like it was pretty old). Hotel worker was very nice over the phone, but I didn’t see her during our stay (which was fine!) door locks are keypads so that’s convenient.
