The Atlantis Inn offers a unique, historic lodging experience with a prime location near Tybee Island’s attractions. While praised for its proximity to the beach and friendly staff, recent reviews highlight concerns regarding dated facilities, cleanliness issues, and inconsistent room quality, alongside occasional service problems. Despite the charm and location, improvements are needed to address reported maintenance and cleanliness concerns.
Been there a few times but the room we stayed in this past time was the best time we have had! The heart shaped hot tub was amazing. The room could use some updates especially the air conditioner. Thanks Susan for the awesome hospitality.
Let me you tell i was in a bind for work here on the island, the mangers Mr.J and (Gunny the golden doodle) and Mrs.Sue competely went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of. Inn isn't perfect bit its cozy but the service 10/10. They are also in the process of remodeling the 3rd story witch is gonna me cats Meow when its done. Let them know your needs and they care for you and over foot the with true southren hospitality.
Great little pet friendly hotel. We stayed in room 19, it was a huge room , on the bottom floor with a large bathroom. The location is perfect. We were 300 feet away from all the bars, Doc's, Bernies, Nickis and the beach was only one block away.. wonderful stay with a great location.. cant wait to go back
Honestly, I was very nervous because of the bad reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. When checking in, the lady walked me to my room. I stayed in Room 7 and had to walk to the other side, which I didn’t mind—it actually felt more secluded. Everything, including the beach and the bars, was very close and within walking distance, which I loved. I did get to meet the infamous dog, but he didn’t smell—at least not to me—and my room was very clean. I’m happy to report there was no odor at all. I would love to come back soon, and the price was pretty good for three nights. I think it was around $200 for a room right on the beach, which is a great deal.(Plus we got a nice heart shaped Jacuzzi in are room which I absolutely loved )
Nice staff, very basic rooms. I had a kitchen- which is great if you want to bring food. The bathroom had not one, but two levels of steps, once when you walk into the bathroom and the second step up is where the toilet is. Not a good option if one is elderly, disabled or handicapped. I actually fell coming out of the bathroom in the middle of the night because I forgot a step. Banged my head, hand and elbow up are pretty good from the fall. They do not serve breakfast, so there are other hotel options around that do include breakfast. The rooms were very clean, but the outside could use some attention.
In 28 years I have never once felt the need to leave a review but I dont even know where to begin with this place. The staff was pretty nice but my boyfriend and i got our room at 8:30pm the room looked absolutely nothing like the pictures. Not even slightly . when we tried to leave to get dinner the door wouldn't even lock so we tried to call the number they gave us for after hours service, no one answered. After a long time we eventually had walked down the road to their sister company where a woman walked back to atlantis inn to give us a new room she called the "king suit" that smelled like either cat piss or straight mold so bad we had to open all the windows and air it out. And i got locked in the bathroom because apparently this entire facility doesnt have working doorknobs...while locked in said bathroom i spotted the longest blackest curly hair just very plainly hanging on the only towel in the bathroom, and i assure you i dont have black hair. Fast forward 20 minutes my signifigant other went to take a shower and said that the water ran brown for a solid minute. We went to the beach and when we came back we couldnt even get the key out of the door so I had to go talk to the office AGAIN about not being able to properly lock up our belongings when we leave. I very politely told her I didnt want to go through the trouble of asking for another room so id like a refund she said "let me try to get the Key out and then we can talk" she got the key out after messing with if for 3 minutes and explained "this is a safe neighborhood and I dont even lock my doors at home" and basically left without letting us get a refund. respectfully thats just not okay with us regardless of how safe you feel the community is, outsiders dont know that and every a hotel motel or holiday inn should have adequate working locks for their guests to feel comfortable in an unfamiliar place. We were very disappointed with our experience considering what we paid for our room. Definitely overpriced, considering how ran down the entire building is inside and out.
Mrs. Susan front desk 3-11 was very kind and helpful. I'm originally from Savannah Georgia and came back from Atlanta Georgia to visit and 3 strongly recommend you give them a try. You won't be disappointed. It's safe clean and the guests are so quiet Mr j Miss Susan and Miss Keisha Thank you for my son
Kinda dated. Friendly staff, cleaning lady is very helpful as well. As a gay interracial couple we did not feel disconnected or discrimination in any way. Some folks dont like dogs.....its not in your room so relax. Anyway I'll be back for sure!
I recently considered staying at the Atlantis Inn Bed and Breakfast, but unfortunately, my experience with the management was extremely disappointing. As someone who enjoys traveling and exploring new places, I was looking forward to trying out this location despite a mix of online reviews. However, I encountered behavior that was unprofessional, offensive, and, quite frankly, discriminatory. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted not by staff, but by a large dog that appeared to belong to the manager or owner. The dog was not well-groomed and had a strong odor of wet dog and mildew. It was stationed right at the front desk, which immediately made me uncomfortable. The lobby also had a strong, unpleasant smell. The rooms were very small and also had a musty, moldy odor. But what shocked me most was the attitude of the manager/ owner. His behavior was extremely rude, dismissive, and came across as racist and judgmental. He scared my child. I was stunned by the level of disrespect and lack of basic hospitality. As a world traveler, I’ve stayed in a wide range of accommodations, and I’ve never felt as unwelcome as I did here. I urge others to avoid this location. There are far better places in the area where you’ll be treated with respect and kindness—something every guest deserves. Please do not book at this hotel. You and your money deserve better.
It was a Nice place to stay, friendly service! The room we had was like a little apartment. They Only down fall was NO COFFEE POT. Please put a coffee pot in the rooms just in case lol. It was a Block from the Beach so it’s Not right on the beach and the parking can be a little of a pain sometimes. But other than that it was a good place to stay.
