We stayed one night here with our family (including two toddlers) and had a wonderful experience. Before arrival, we requested that the sofa bed be unfolded and asked if a small note could be left to surprise the kids upon check-in. The staff went above and beyond—they left the note, plus two bottles of water and a box of Bryd’s cookies! What a lovely touch. We were also able to check in earlier than expected after confirming by phone—very convenient! The front-desk staff were friendly and courteous, making the arrival process smooth. We parked right in front of the hotel, but it turns out those spots are for loading/unloading or valet only. The $35 valet fee was added to our room without our knowledge, and there was no signage indicating this—something to keep in mind. Our room was very spacious and clean, with a kitchen stocked with the basics, which was great for a short family stay. The free breakfast was a nice bonus and extremely convenient, especially with kids. During our visit, the breakfast spread included hot items like scrambled eggs, sausage patties, egg quiches, hot oatmeal with many toppings, and a waffle station. Baked goods and fruits included bagels, muffins, and bananas. Drinks included coffee, tea, milk cartons, and hot chocolate. Cold items included yogurt. There was always an attendant available to answer questions and replenish anything that was running low. The location is super convenient—just a 15-minute walk to the Plant Riverside District and riverfront. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely return!

We stay here every time we come to Savannah and we are never let down. Great location to walk everywhere. Small kitchenette’s in the room so you don’t have to eat every meal out. Breakfast is good and has a variety of goodies. The staff is super friendly and professional. Could the place use a little updating, sure but it’s still a great place to stay.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights the weekend of Thanksgiving. I had a mishap where I booked the wrong weekend on Expedia, and I freaked out and called for the right weekend. Luckily they had availability. Although, looking back, I kinda wish I had looked at other options because this was not really worth the cost of what we paid. Our sheets and towels were clean, which was great. The bathroom needs major updating, as the baseboards and caulk are dirty and/or moldy. Our kitchen was clean, but the room itself smelled damp and musty. It was very dry at night. The courtyard is beautiful, and might be worth it in the summer with the pool. I didn’t realize how out of the way this hotel was compared to other hotels. I wouldn’t really say this is “downtown” if you are a tourist because walking can take 15-20 to get to the main sites. It wasn’t a huge deal, but I should have looked into that more rather than relying on the “downtown” aspect of their name. I wouldn’t feel safe walking by myself late at night, as the gas station in front has some people outside that would yell at us as we walked by, and that was scary being 7 months pregnant. This isn’t the hotel’s fault, of course, but as a female I would not recommend if you are solo traveling and staying out late at night. The last thing that I really hope this hotel changes….you need to have a water area for your guests. Many hotels in your price range have water available to guests, and it doesn’t need to be super fancy. But oftentimes people are coming in from a long walk and would like some water. If I had to stay here again, I would. But I would definitely look elsewhere first, especially for the price.

This was honestly the most disgusting and miserable stay of my life. The bed felt like someone stacked concrete blocks under a sheet, and the springs were so shot I had to sleep on the floor just to keep my back from giving out completely. The pull-out couch was a joke the sheets looked like they hadn’t been washed in forever. The bathroom was a nightmare. The shower caulking was cracked all the way around, the tub looked filthy no matter how long I stared at it, and there were actual bugs trapped inside the bathroom light fixture, which is something I’ve never seen in any hotel, ever. I didn’t sleep even a minute. The TV remotes barely worked, the room felt neglected and cheap, and honestly the whole setup reminded me of run-down, poorly maintained housing, not a place people pay to stay in. If you’re thinking about booking a cottage here, don’t do it. I would’ve been more comfortable sleeping in my car. This place is flat-out terrible.

Not in heart of historic district like so many YouTube and other advertisements stated. It’s in the very edge in fact, with project housing next block over. Parking is secure if you use valet for $35/night. They have two other lots which can’t be seen by parking attendant, so wouldn’t recommend letting your vehicle get parked in those two lots. We’ve stayed in numerous Residence Inn’s and this one is nice in public areas; but, rooms are outdated and bathroom tile and grout in our room needed a deep clean. There was a bathtub/shower combination in our room with a shower curtain (gross) instead of what other RI’s have that are more modernized. Can always tell if a room has been truly cleaned after prior guest leave. When little dog spends the majority of time sniffing around means it’s not clean. The amazing part of the hotel was on the outside where the hotel is across street from field where Battle of Savannah took place in 1779. Also walking distance to the Savannah Visitor Center, which is connected to The Savannah History Museum and The Railroad Museum (which also houses an amazing interactive Children’s’ Museum). Next door the hotel is Parker’s Gas Station and we had to wait there for The Downtowner car service (provided free by the City of Savannah). After one time of waiting here, we took Lyft. A lot of seedy characters hang out and cross through the parking lot if this gas station. However, all of tge staff we encountered here was nothing but super friendly and helpful. We went out for breakfast each morning as what was offered was not acceptable to us. Recommend this hotel for the history surrounding it; however, we’d stay more centrally located in the historic district on next visit.

Beautiful, large, clean, true suites, well priced. Jasmine at the front desk, and Dennis, the valet, were both very helpful!! The complimentary breakfasts were delicious, with a varied selection. The bed was very comfortable, and we appreciated the kitchen being stocked with dishes, utensils, etc. Easy walking to the City Market area. Will definitely stay again!

I don't leave many reviews but in this case, it's a must. We make the yearly trek from New Jersey to Tampa Bay every year for Thanksgiving. We came across this Residence Inn 2 years ago. We loved our room so much in the Cottages that we rebooked this year. Being I have a Service Dog, a highly trained Service Dog, these rooms worked for us. My 1st indication that something was not quite right was walking into the room and my dog was not acting herself. 2nd was walking into a filthy kitchen. After 8 hours of driving, I started cleaning with what I had, a smiley sponge and Palmolive dish soap. Oily, dirty smudges and crumbs on the counters. When I dropped something there was a strong smell of urine in the carpeting. Kitchen floor was just as dirty as was the carpeting did not look vacuumed. Walking into the bathroom a dirt stain in the tub and just how many times can tile be caulked? Caulking was bulging out around the tub and floors. Shower curtain was a wrinkled mess. Out our door is the doggy area which also needs refreshing. I washed everything before use. Being Marriott Members and Timeshare holders for over 20 years, this room was unacceptable and way below Marriott Standards. It was absolutely disgusting and unsanitary. The 1 star is for the staff and the white bath towels. I was worried my dog, if needed, would not alert me when I needed her to she was so busy with all the scents in that room. After all, she is a dog. We always clean up after ourselves before leaving. I would never leave a messy room. In addition, we always leave a nice tip for housekeeping and this is the first time we did not. I see the other posts about the cleanliness of the rooms and how management responds but appears it's just to publicly pacify us. They need to act on it. Next year, no Savannah for us, we will bypass and stay elsewhere.

This is a hidden gem, within walking distance to restaurants, etc., but tucked away from larger thoroughfares, so it is quiet retreat. The staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. Our room overlooked the courtyard, which was a visual delight with multiple trees, a pool, fountain, and firepit. The included breakfast was delicious. The hotel's location makes it convenient to get back on the road.

Very well kept hotel and property in a quiet part of town. Our suite on the ground floor was spacious, clean and quiet. We enjoyed the pool area and the very pretty courtyard. The staff was kind and professional. The area around the hotel is nice if you have a dog and want to go for a short walk. Parking might be difficult if you come late in the afternoon but it's free in the adjacent streets. Overall a good place to stay in Savannah.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this place for a quick birthday getaway trip. He was alerted that our room was ready and it was earlier than expected which was amazing. The parking situation is less than ideal. The front of the hotel sits down a small side road. You have to park in the road to check-in and unless you want to risk not finding parking (as in parking that reasonably close parking or having to pay a street meter), you have to use the valet which drives your car to a tiny gated parking lot across the street for $35. It is downtown in a popular/tourist city, so parking could be worse. The valet driver was really nice and seemed like a cool guy. The hotel looks nice when walking in, and the room we were given was large and looked very nice. As I was unpacking some things, I noticed that the counters were pretty dirty with visible smears and random debris (small metal coil from a pen and various crumbs), and there were dark brown stains on some of the towels. It was kinda gross, but the bed was made and the refrigerator was clean. We went to grab a semi-late lunch and when we returned, there was a XL cockroach on the kitchenette counter. This thing was bigger than a travel size tube of toothpaste…no lie, about 3 inches long. My boyfriend/hero killed it, but I couldn’t get myself to stay in a room that just housed Godzilla’s half-brother. He went to the front desk to request another room while I shook out all of our things and packed up. He said they were accommodating and nice about it. They told him they had just sprayed and it had been heavily raining that day (it was a downpour when we arrived). The room we were moved to was not as big, but had a strong weird smell. I would take weird smell over roaches any day. We took our shoes off and the carpet was semi-wet. We assumed they had just cleaned the carpet, but there was a large dark stain on the carpet by the kitchenette. The kitchen counter was dirty with what looked like mayo smears, crumbs, and old foggy water in the coffee maker tank. I was looking forward to a little coffee, but there was no way I was going to use that machine. The bed was made and the sheets looked clean. The bathroom was definitely cleaner than the previous room. There was mold lining the ceiling above the shower. I kept looking out for roaches for the rest of our stay, but did not see any and nothing else unpleasant happened. This place is definitely not worth the price they charge.
