The River Street Inn offers a historic and charming stay in the heart of Savannah’s River Street, boasting convenient access to restaurants, shops, and the riverfront. Guests consistently praise the friendly staff, stunning views, and overall atmosphere, though some reviewers have noted minor maintenance issues and occasional noise levels. Overall, it’s a popular choice for experiencing the essence of Savannah.
What a beautiful place! Southern charm, restaurants on site and all around in walking distance. Valet parking is the best as parking is tough around this area. Valet staff top notch as well! The Broken keel restaurant is wonderful with the views and the staff; you can't go wrong! In the evenings you can walk the river walk and take in all the beauty after dinner. It has been a wonderful time staying at this wonderful Inn!!
We really enjoyed our stay at the River Street Inn. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Our room was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the river view was fantastic. Watching the huge container ships go by was surprisingly fun and one of the highlights of the trip. The room did have a slight musty smell, but considering the age and history of the building, it honestly felt understandable and didn’t take away from the experience. Overall, it was a charming and memorable place to stay right in the middle of everything on River Street.
Excellent price for the area, great location, great rooms, really kind staff at the front desk as well as at their restaurant. Get the river view. Nice managers reception with free drinks and snacks. Popcorn too. You get champagne when you arrive. We advise parking in the nearby ramp for $20 a day rather than the valet for $50. Not noisy.
This place is amazing! Historic and super service... and free drinks and snacks from 4 to 530 each day... Bradly was a great host for us! And the huge ships going by was very cool too! Close to everything you want.
I stayed at this hotel recently and overall had a pleasant experience, with some areas that could use improvement. Room & Comfort The beds were comfortable, and the tall mirror was a nice touch. The exposed brick and tall windows are beautiful and add character to the room. A bed skirt would make the beds look more polished and luxurious. There was only one chair in a room with two beds; having two chairs would be more practical. The nightstand lights were not individually controlled, which would have been more convenient if they were. Cleanliness & Maintenance The room could benefit from deeper cleaning, especially behind the bathroom door’s back, baseboards, and the bathtub. One drawer handle on the dresser was loose. The decorative fireplace had some broken bricks. Hanging artwork would also enhance the room and make it feel more upscale. Bathroom The bathroom amenities were excellent—shampoo, conditioner, and other toiletries were high quality, and even lotion was provided. The bathroom did not have a fan. The toilet would be better if it followed ADA standards. The bathtub also needs deep cleaning. Amenities The coffee machine and refrigerator were nice additions. The iron and ironing board were in good condition. There were enough clothes hangers for a three-day stay. Technology & Noise The internet was not great, and connecting the TV to my iPhone was not an option. Noise from people outside could be heard even on the 5th floor, though most nights were quiet enough to sleep well. Service & Extras Initially, the beds did not have top sheets, but housekeeping added them promptly after we asked. The hotel staff was thoughtful and generous—they gave us free vouchers for two people and a bottle of champagne because it was my birthday. The morning coffee and manager’s reception were a nice addition, and the discounted restaurant cards were very helpful. Common Areas & Layout The lobby and common areas are fancy and well-designed. Some rooms were a bit confusing to find at first, as reaching them required using two elevators.
The location and staff of the River Street Inn is fantastic! I have never felt so supportive and cared for while traveling, it's definitely raised my expectations of other hotels I will stay at. The entire staff is amazing but Will and Kayla did so much to ensure that my experience was positive, restful, and supported. I cannot recommend the River Street Inn enough!
Our stay at River Street Inn was outstanding from start to finish. The property is beautifully decorated, full of Southern charm, and the rooms were immaculate, truly spotless and incredibly comfortable. Every single person we encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The views are beautiful, and the location couldn’t be better. It is perfectly situated to get everywhere easily while still feeling relaxing and scenic. A special mention goes to Will, who runs the happy hour. He was exceptionally kind and engaging and added such a personal, memorable touch to the experience. This is the kind of place that makes you feel truly taken care of. We would absolutely love to return.
What a fantastic hotel full of history and beautiful touches like seating areas each floor and champagne upon arrival. The location is great, right on the river, and in the middle of so much. It can be a little loud at night, but that's not the hotel's fault. Take advantage of the managers reception each afternoon!! There's also a restaurant on site. It feels safe as you have to use your room key to activate the elevator, and everything is well lit. A lot is within walking distance too. The room is spacious and the bed is very comfortable. My only complaint would be that its not dirty, but it's also not the most clean? If we come back to Savannah, we would definitely stay here again!!!
This historical hotel is simply lovely. In a great area by the Savannah River. Restaurants, coffee shops, The Georgia Queen Paddle boat, great gift shops with a variety of nice items. The staff at the front desk are professional, kind and welcoming The hotel rooms for guests are newer , and have walk-in showers that are safe and rooms are very clean. I stayed on the River view side and loved our room. Restaurants inside the hotel are welcoming with a variety of great food choices. I feel safe at this hotel and attention to guests is outstanding. I think The River Street Inn will not disappoint. It's a beautiful place.
My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and this hotel was absolutely amazing. Not only is it beautiful, but the amenities, restaurants, and being right on the water—what more could you ask for? They were even filming Road House 2 right next to us, which was really cool to see! If I could give more than five stars, I would. The only recommendation I’d give is to book directly through the hotel rather than third-party sites like Hopper, since not all pricing details are disclosed—but that’s not a complaint at all. We truly loved our stay. 5/5 ?????????? So many fun and interesting things to do nearby as well!
