The Planters Inn on Reynolds Square offers a historic Savannah experience, located in a prime downtown location. While many guests appreciate the charming decor, friendly staff, and convenient amenities like complimentary wine hours, recurring issues with noise from the adjacent parking garage, cleanliness concerns, and outdated building features are frequently mentioned.

Very disappointing. Our 6th floor room reeked of mildew. Moved to the 4th floor. Bathroom floor covered in black hair. Mold in the tub. Electric wall outlets didn’t work. No microwave, no refrigerator, no ice machines, no vending machines. Staff was polite, not terribly helpful.

A hotel that perfectly matches the charm and atmosphere of Savannah. The lobby is small, cozy, and welcoming, with complimentary lemon water, coffee, and evening cookies that made the stay feel especially warm. I only wish the weekday lobby activities were also available on weekends. The mattress was extremely comfortable. Even though the street noise outside was quite loud and I ended up sleeping less than six hours over two nights, the sleep itself was surprisingly deep and restful. If I had to mention one downside, it would definitely be the valet/doorman service, which was disappointing. I’m not sure whether choosing not to use valet parking somehow affected the level of basic courtesy and hospitality, but the greetings and service felt noticeably lacking. For parking, the nearby Bryan Street Garage is a great option at only about $5 per night (around $11 during special events). The Congress Street Garage, however, ends up costing close to valet pricing, so at that point valet may honestly be more worthwhile. Lastly, a thank you to the hotel for the thoughtful birthday gift — a complimentary bottle of wine, which was a lovely touch to end the stay.

We stayed at the Planters Inn to celebrate our anniversary. This is a great location to stay in downtown Savannah and the rooms and general decor are very attractive. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the complementary wine tasting and evening cookies. A special thanks to the Planters for their kind anniversary gift. We had a most pleasant and memorable stay.

Excellent location to everything! The staff is always friendly. The beds are small and mattresses are too soft for me but some people may prefer a soft mattress. The free wine hour from 4:30-6:00 is a good way to start your night!

We booked it for its charm and we definitely got charm with the four poster beds. The room also had a nice size refrigerator, plenty big to keep drinks and leftovers cold and a very large TV. We never needed to connect to the Wi-Fi but it was available and free. The staff was gracious and in the evenings after 7:45 they put out big hot fresh gooey cookies. There was no ice machine, but if you needed ice, ask for it and water at the desk; they also had fresh coffee all day. They do offer valet parking and to be honest we probably should’ve done that instead of parking in the garage next to the hotel because we found out if we left the parking garage they would charge us again but with valet, you could come and go and the valet attendants were always very nice. We couldn’t have asked for a better location, a block away from the busy downtown area with plenty of food and shopping, and a short walk down to the Riverwalk, but I must caution. The steps are really, really steep… there is a great breakfast restaurant behind at the hotel, and the square across the street from us had a sax player busking in the morning. But for us a great thing was one of the Old Town Trolley stops was a block away, so we were able to purchase tickets right from the concierge at a hotel across the street from the #11 stop. We were in town to attend one of the Savannah Banana games at Grayson Stadium and it was maybe a 10 minute drive to the stadium. Honestly, it was a great stay there, and I look forward to returning in the future.

Gorgeous lobby, great service, and great location in the historic district. The hotel entrance is right across from a park (Reynolds Square) and depending on the room you get, you can get a nice view of the park. The location of our room was next to the elevator. And while I've stayed in rooms in other hotels next to elevators before, this elevator is particularly noisy. It didn't affect me that much, but for light sleepers, it really could be an issue. Also, these beds (while comfortable) are set up very high from the floor. This can be a major problem for the elderly or short people. The walls and ceiling have some cosmetic issues.

Location could not have been better!!! Within walking distance to most everything we had planned to do. Such a beautiful building and lobby.. Room in 5th floor was perfect. Tub could use a little work on caulk and maybe an updated white toilet seat? Each night they hosted a wine and cheese happy hour which was well attended. Southern charm exudes! Right next door to the historic Pink House.

Great place to stay near the river and Main Street where all of the shops are. Rooms are large and very comfy. The heating was very loud and kept me up. I would definitely take some ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper like me. It the bed was very comfortable. The staff were great. I enjoyed the cheese trays and live music in the lobby. Also loved the location beside The Olde Pink House. Everything was within walking distance.

This hotel is beautiful! I stayed here for a quick trip and it was perfect. The bed was comfortable, the room had everything I needed. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location is perfect for those coming to see beautiful Savannah. I parked in the garage across the street and it was quite affordable and convenient.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Planter’s Inn. It’s conveniently located. The tour bus has a stop across the street and the Dot goes the hotel too. It’s within walking distance to the river. The service made us feel like we were in an opulent resort. Carl the doorman was especially helpful. He gave us directions and was super friendly. The wine and cheese was a treat.
