The Forsyth Park Inn consistently receives glowing reviews for its beautiful historic setting, exceptional service, and convenient location across from Forsyth Park. Guests particularly highlight the warm hospitality of staff like Daryl and Dwayne, delicious breakfasts, and a truly memorable Savannah experience. While some rooms may benefit from updates, the overall ambiance and charm of the property are highly praised.
There aren't sufficient words to express how wonderful our stay was at this most beautiful, historic bed and breakfast. It's location is magnificent. Just across the road is the stunning Forsyth Park with it's Spanish Moss trees and famous fountain in view, it couldn't have been more lovely. Our room (The Taylor) was absolutely breathtaking. Beautifully decorated, warm, inviting and comfortable. It looked out onto the stunning porch overlooking the park. Delicious light snacks were served accompanied by wine, coffee, teas or hot chocolate in the evening and fresh baked brownies were offered in the parlor later on before bed. An incredible breakfast was served the next morning consisting of pancakes, cinnamon baked apples with whipped cream, candied pecans, and raisins. However most memorable was the incredible, most accommodating innkeeper (host) Daryl who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. He even drew up a personalized map of must see destinations and how to get to each one. He was the most kind, considerate, professional gentleman from the moment we arrived to a warm hug goodbye upon check out. The entire staff should be commended for their unforgettable friendliness, professionalism, and attention to detail. Absolutely magical. We hope to return to Savannah and the beautiful Forsyth Park Inn very soon.
Wow this place had everything. First Dwayne greeted us and made us feel so welcome, he gave great suggestions. He was like visiting an old friend. The property was so beautiful, close to everything. We had no problems parking and we walked everywhere. A 25 minute walk to river st. Breakfast was delicious. We plan on coming back.
Forsyth Park Inn was the perfect choice for my first solo trip to Savannah. From the moment I arrived, the inn felt calm, welcoming, and thoughtfully run. An environment that makes solo travel feel both safe and restorative. I stayed in Room 1 (Taylor) on the main floor, which was spacious, beautifully maintained, and overlooked Forsyth Park. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the separate sitting area was a lovely touch; perfect for reading or unwinding after a day of exploring. The plated breakfast included with the stay was always delicious, exceptional and thoughtfully prepared. I also appreciated the small but meaningful amenities: tea, water, decaf coffee, and sometimes little sweet treats available throughout the day, which made the experience feel generous and guest-centered. The staff, especially Dwayne (General Manager), were warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, which made my stay feel personal rather than transactional. Forsyth Park Inn is an excellent choice for anyone seeking a peaceful, well-run, and welcoming place to stay, especially for solo travelers. I would absolutely return…already thinking of my next trip with friends and family.
Loved the people, loved the location, the food provided was wonderful and they really take care of their guests. The issue was the room cleanliness. Dead roach under the bed, dust and debris in every corner and along the baseboards, the bathroom was filthy with dirt buildup along all nooks and crannies. Glad we took house shoes and shower slippers. Maybe a 1x weekly deep clean? The other suggestions are to remove some of the furniture in the smaller rooms and update a bit with the correct paint.
What a dream location for a wedding. We rented the entire facility for Fri, Sat, Sun to host our daughter's destination wedding. We were able to provide rooms for all the immediate family and the wedding party. The accommodations, food, staff and just the entire experience was second to none. Highly recommended.
We were graciously met at the reception area and given instructions about the inn. Our room was in the lowest part of the inn, but I knew that when booking. The separate private entrance to the back courtyard was nice. The staff is exceptional, the breakfasts were very hearty, happy hour was a nice way to meet the other guests. Being right across the street from Forsyth Park makes it worth being on a busy street. We walked to a nearby restaurant in the evening and felt very safe!!
My wife and I just spent the last three days and nights at the Forsyth Park Inn. It is located next to Forsyth Park, are very large park with grand old live oaks, good clean park, that is safe and easy to get around I suitable for jogging, walking pets, cycling, or just strolling and sitting on a bench. The Forsyth Park Inn was built in the 1800s and has been a home, boarding house, and apartment building until it was restored to the gem that it is today. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the breakfasts are fantastic each morning. They also have a happy hour with wine and dessert. The parlor is beautiful and the guests engage and chat for hours. The porch overlooking the park is very nice and cozy. The Inn staff are outstanding Liv, Gary, Stewart, and Duane were fantastic. As them for recommendations for dining or any activity and you cannot go wrong. This was out 2nd time visiting Savannah and it was the best. When we return it will be at the Forsyth Park Inn. The Forsyth Park Inn is a short walk to anywhere for shopping, dining, museums, and exploring.
My husband and I just returned from a wonderful visit in Savannah! We stayed at The Forsyth Park Inn and our time spent there was certainly worth mentioning! A beautiful inn which was perfectly located and within walking distance to many popular locations. We enjoyed the amazing breakfasts on the porch each morning and the happy hour in the afternoon! Our room, Pulaski was gorgeous and very comfortable! A special shout out to Gary and Stuart who shared their kindness and knowledge of the local haunts with us two from New Jersey! They were a huge part of our enjoyment and we hope that anyone who visits here has the same experience meeting them, truly two of the nicest people ever! Book your next vacation here, you will not regret it!!
Great location and authentic experience. Staff were very friendly and hospitable. They open the windows for breakfast to eat on the front porch with views into the park while you’re eating. Breakfast was good and menu varies day to day. Main floor rooms are beautiful with doors that are over 10 feet tall. Some rooms are smaller and others have multiple beds. Some are upstairs, or main floor, or the basement. Kids need to be 12 and older. Quiet, romantic, and fancy.
Great place to stay. Loved the house and the very friendly staff who were more than willing to give guidance on where to go, what to see and even insider locations to avoid the normal 'tourist' areas. Great area of Savannah with free parking on the side streets. We walked to most areas to visit instead of trying to drive everywhere. Will definitely plan to stay there again.
