The Quality Inn Savannah Historic District receives mixed reviews, primarily due to its prime location and friendly staff. However, concerns about outdated rooms, cleanliness issues, unexpectedly high parking fees, and billing errors persist. While some guests appreciate the value for its location and early check-in options, significant improvements are needed to address reported maintenance and service shortcomings.
The rooms were clean. No chairs to sit at the table if you wanted eat in your room. The toilet doesn't flush unless you hold it down through the complete cycle. The lady who checked us in couldn't tell us where our room was. Keep telling us it was on second floor when it was on 1st floor and she was not very nice.
Excellent location! Staff was as friendly, helpful, and pleasant as anyone you'll meet. Milk was truly cold at breakfast! We slept so well, we decided to stay another night!
Great location! For the price, I really can’t complain too much. The bed seems to be a bit too big for the room and while you had to pay for parking, I didn’t think it was a huge deal considering the location and it is a touristy part of town. One the weekend, it did get a bit loud but it’s the weekend so of course. The room was clean and the staff were local Americans that spoke English so that’s a huge plus! I would stay here again.
The pictures of the hotel and the rooms that are online look nothing like the actual hotel. Do not be fooled by the images you see when booking. I understand that an older location will look older, but this room was not just outdated, it was not maintained. There was also a very strong smell of mildew/mold in the room. We were on the ground floor and the room felt unsafe. There was gap between the door and door frame large enough to let light in and there was damage around the door knob that made it look as though it was broken and not repaired correctly. I had booked for 3 nights. I decided to leave and go elsewhere. I didn't complain. I simply went to the desk and said I was checking out. I had already paid in full through Expedia. After leaving, my bank alerted me that I had 3 additional charges from the hotel, equaling close to $300. I called the hotel to question it and was told I was being given an "early check out fee" since I left early. I explained that it shouldn't matter if I was leaving early of not, I had already paid and they could rent the room again. I was told that's how it worked. Yes the hotel is close to downtown, but it is not worth the money, the hassle, or anything that comes with staying there.
Great for a quick stay, perfect location, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Amanda at the front desk took the time to explain the city to us and gave us great recommendations. Cheap parking, $30 a day which is cheaper than other hotels we looked at.
The room I was in had a bad smell (probably from the carpet) and when I tried to take a shower, the shower would not work. The staff were incredibly nice, but I would not stay here again. I gave them two stars simply because of the staff or I wouldn't have given any stars.
Got this for the location, didnt click far enough to see its paid parking, and they mention nothing about competing with the public for parking(not cool). Floor was nasty, mold in the bathroom, and the bed hasnt been swept under in ages. TV signal sucks and they obviously dont care about feedback or it would be fixed by now.. Not a happy camper on this one for the price.
This is our go-to hotel anytime we visit Savannah. Not only is it situated near everything we want to see/do, but the manager (who we have seen every time we've visited in the past few years) is amazing. She obviously takes pride in her business and maintains a wonderful and positive attitude in all kinds of circumstances. Her staff is also amazing, and you can tell they care about their guests. The rooms are a little dated, but they are clean and comfortable (some of the best hotel sleep we've had in a long time). We will absolutely be back.
My wife and young daughters book this place for a two night stay on their way to Orlando. She just sent me pictures of the terrible conditions. Not only is the room falling apart. It is extremely filthy. A the stair way leading to the room is full of trash. I cannot believe this place is allowed to operate in that condition.
Clerk accidentally charged my card $2639 instead of $50 for parking and didn’t tell me. When I noticed it and went to the front counter she said it had been corrected. This was on a Friday and Monday wasn’t refunded until the following Monday needless to say my weekend Christmas shopping trip was ruined because I was now out of the money I brought with me to shop. The motel could have at least refunded me my money I spent on the rooms since they ruined my whole trip. We ended up leaving a night early due to this inconvenience and they didn’t even offer to refund any of our money.
