Guests highlight the comfortable rooms, delicious breakfasts, and walkable location within Savannah’s historic district. We had such a great experience at the Catherine Ward House. Perfect location in the historic district. Just a short walk from the serenity of Forsyth Park and a quick drive to some truly amazing food experiences. The breakfasts at Catherine Ward House were terrific. The House and the rooms are beautiful and the staff was all about seeing that we had a great time and were definitely both warm and professional. We can't wait for our next trip to Savannah and the lovely Catherine Ward House Inn.

Such an adorable and beautiful place to stay. The staff was very attentive and kind. The rooms were beautifully decorated and the house was amazing. Breakfast each morning was also good-could be heavier on the portions, and have more veggie options, but was freshly made and nicely presented. The location is good-a bit far from downtown, but in a nicer, quieter part of Savannah. Would definitely go back again!

Found this place when doing some research on where to stay for our first trip to Savannah. I was pleasantly surprised! Going in, I tried not to have high expectations, but the room was lovely and the location was fantastic! Although a little far from downtown and the riverwalk (about 26-30 min walk), the ubers were cheap (about $10) and worth it for when we had reservations to make or were just so exhausted. Staff were lovely and breakfast included. It's definitely not the fanciest place like the bardo hotel down the street, but it was perfect for us and just what we were looking for! Loved the double sink and king size bed in the captains room. We would definitely stay here again. Great price compared to others closer to downtown. We honestly enjoyed the walking (get to see more that way). Right across the Forsyth park for the Saturday morning farmer's/artist market with a coffee shop down the street!

We had a wonderful stay, our room was very nice (we loved the large bathroom! Sonia was gracious and actually quite a laugh and very knowledgeable about current affairs in Savanna and stories of past times. The breakfasts were very good. We will go again.

Close to college for graduation events. Comfortable and spacious room, very accomodating to us for an early am departure, by providing coffee, tea and muffins/banana to go! The staff was so gracious and welcoming. Thank you for making our stay a most pleasant one.

Being on the corner of Forsyth Park makes this location perfect. So easy to walk most places. We did uber to the river as it was 1.3 miles. Breakfasts were amazing. Our room was very large, bed super comfortable. Highly recommend Catherine Ward House!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Catherine Ward House Inn, and it truly made our visit to Savannah feel special. The accommodations were absolutely lovely—beautifully maintained, comfortable, and full of the kind of charm you hope for in a historic home. What really set this stay apart, though, was the staff. Every interaction felt thoughtful and genuine. They were engaged, attentive, and clearly take pride in what they do. From offering helpful suggestions to making sure every detail of our stay was just right, they went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful experience. It’s the kind of place where you feel welcomed the moment you arrive and a little sad to leave. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a warm, memorable stay in Savannah.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is literally steps from Forsyth Park. Lynn and Rebekah make the best breakfast with fantastic presentation’s . Sam’s chocolate chip cookies are the best! Sonja knew of a need we had in transportation and volunteered to help us. Thank you Sonja! All in all it was a good experience. We recommend The Catherine Ward House.

I don't usually write reviews, but this experience was so bad--and could potentially create a public health hazard if it occurs again--that I felt it my responsibility to leave this review. I wish I could say that my stay at the Catherine Ward House Inn was relaxing, fun, and stress-free--as I had been hoping for my milestone birthday trip--but it was none of those. Indeed, when I arrived in the hot Savannah weather, the air conditioning was not operating on the top floor (where my room and 2 other rooms are located), and there had been no advance notice from the proprietor warning me that the A/C was out. It was 81 degrees in my room when I checked in. When I came back a few hours later, at approximately 9:00 p.m., having been told that the A/C was fixed, the room was still at 77 degrees (due to natural cooling after dark), in spite of the thermostat being set at 69 degrees by me. I called the proprietor, who tried to convince me at first that this was normal, and she also told me that their thermostat doesn't go lower than 69 degrees even when the A/C is fully functional. (Note that sleep studies have shown time and again that ideal sleeping temperature for a bedroom is in the range of 65 - 68 degrees, so even in the best circumstances at this inn, a guest would never be able to reach ideal sleeping conditions when the A/C is needed). I was able to convince her that the A/C still wasn't working (she had to check with the room next door first, which was experiencing the same problem as mine), and she brought up 2 fans and said she would refund that night's charge. I asked if there was anywhere else in the inn to sleep, since the A/C was working on the lower floors--and she herself was sleeping in a room on the main floor, which had A/C--but she said they were full, didn't offer her room, didn't have a backup plan or voucher with another hotel or B&B nearby for such a contingency. I ended up miserable that night, on the eve of my birthday, barely sleeping by lying on top of all the covers, with 2 fans trained directly on my face. The room temperature when I got up the next morning was down to 73 degrees, and was still higher than the outdoor temperature that morning (and there was no way to open windows to let in air or a breeze). Now, had I been elderly or had a respiratory condition, this would have been even more dangerous than it was, but even for those without such vulnerabilities, it is well known that the body MUST be able to recover at night in order to avoid heat exhaustion. And the next day in Savannah, it was 83 degrees and humid. And by the time I left my room after showering that morning (cold shower), it was back up to 81 degrees in the room before noon. I had hoped to be able to come back to my room to relax after lunch, but couldn't stand the idea of facing such heat. And then, to add insult to injury, the proprietor refunded me for the least expensive night of my trip rather than the first night without A/C--a difference of close to $100 when taxes and fees are included. When I asked her to refund the night she had promised, at the higher rate, she stated that it was their "policy" only to refund the least expensive night. I inquired further as to this "policy," which I didn't see in writing anywhere, and which was contrary to what I had been told the first night, but received no response. Thankfully, the A/C was fixed on the afternoon of the second day of my stay. I had already been researching other last-minute hotels in the area (this was a weekend, so very little availability left on last-minute notice in Savannah) to stay at my own additional expense, because I feared heat exhaustion. I spent no small amount of time on my birthday worrying about all this, and am still frustrated by that. The only reason this review gets 2 stars instead of 1 is because the bed itself (once I could sleep in it) was soft and comfortable, and the location on Forsyth Park is excellent. I hope this inn gets a contingency plan in place for times like this and starts putting their guests first.

Steps from Forsyth park. The most consistently delicious breakfast & coffee. Situated perfectly for exploring Savannah on foot and also in the middle of the historic district. Charming little courtyard & beautifully decorated historic, common area. So quaint. I truly can’t say enough positive things. I can’t wait to come back.
